10-22-21  THOUGHTS

This morning, we consider a collection of passages with a BEHAVIOR THEME.  I pray that God will work in us and through us.  I pray that we will let him do exactly that!  Make me a servant Lord!

Php 1:27    Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
Php 2:12-13     So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13  for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
Eph 2:10   For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Php 4:1   Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long [to see,] my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.
1Pet 2:11-12     Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.  12  Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Matt 11:28-30     "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29  "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.  30  "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
1Cor 15:58      Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not [in] vain in the Lord.
Gal 6:7-9    Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8  For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.  9  Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
Heb 6:10-11  For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.  11  And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,
Heb 12:1   Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Rom 13:14   But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to [its] lusts.

My Prayer:
O God, as our Lord and master washed feet, may we serve with all humility of mind.  Help us to put on Christ, and allow You to work in us according to Your good pleasure.  Give us a proper perspective in our serving, that we may be joyful according to your desire for us.  We seek heaven by your promise.   I the name of our Lord Jesus            Amen
